Simple Shoe Box DIY

Simple Shoe Box DIY

So, to basically, instead of revising, I decided I'd have a little spring clean. First of all I clean my wardrobe out, then I washed my dirty make-up brushes and sorted out some old make-up, hair accessories and some nail varnish.

All you need for this simple Shoe Box DIY is..
  1. A few shoe boxes (depending on how much stuff you got)
  2. Stickers (if you wish to decorate your boxes, I just left them plain)
  3. Felt tips (same as above)
  4. Of course ALL of your essentials you want to put away in one pile!
I got two shoe boxes, one Nike one and one Adidas. My Nike shoe box was bigger than my Adidas one, so I used my Nike shoe box for all of my unused Make-Up and old Make-Up.
This is a very simple way and cheap and of course environmental friendly way of storing your old make-up and make-up you have not used yet. I literally just dumped all of my unused and un-touched make up in the box.

Next, I sorted out all my nail polish.
I used my Adidas shoe box for my nail polish because I eventually threw a lot out when I was sorting my nail polish out. Some of these nail polish, I have not even used/touched before. Well of course I have touched them, like when I bought them but 'touch' as in used them.

I firstly, sorted them out by brand but then I realized, I had to dig through that massive pile and find every brand that is the same, so I gave up. BUT, I put all of my Barry M nail polish in a row as you can see above including the nail art stuff by Barry M.

I don't even know why I have put Nail Polish Remover Pads in the box, I think they are all dried up anyways, to be quite honest they ain't even that good but I did get them from Home Bargains. They were possibly around 38p? But whatevs. They ain't that good. It's only 38p down the drain.

Eventually once I cleaned up my nail polish, it looked like this!

The next thing I cleaned up/put together were all my hair accessories and rings.
You obviously wouldn't know this, but all my hair accessories are placed into different boxes and placed in different places in the room, so I thought putting all my hair accessories in one place was a very good idea. I used a Vans shoe box for all my hair accessories and then inside the Vans shoe box, I had other cute little boxes, which helps me keep everything organised.

I kept my bobby pins and hair grips in two separate boxes. Use girls know the bobby pins, hair bobbles and hair grip logic. No matter how many of each we have, we will always lose them! Maybe if we organised them, we won't lose them anymore? I'm not sure. I hope this works though!

So yeah, I basically put all my bobby pins in the mickey mouse box and then just some normal hair grips in the other box/tin/container thing.

I sometimes also LOVE to use hair elastics (snags) to tie my ponytail as I think it holds all of my hair better. I sometimes use little hair snags for like two ponytails or something too. But I also have thicker elastic snags which I got from Boots. And in this tin, I have placed all my thicker elastic snags because I have already got like a little pocket zipper bag for the thinner snags, which you can get from Claires which there are like 100 of them?

So yeah.
Next, I put this hair bobbles into a little Tiffany & Co box. (NOPE, I haven't got anything from Tiffany & Co, because I still can't afford anything from there, but my cousin were throwing this boxes out and I thought these cute little boxes would be really  handy for little things, so I asked her if I could have them!)
I don't know what these bobbles are called but I really like these bobbles as when you tie up with these you won't get the little crease but with not bobbles you would. So yesh. I got these bobbles from Topshop, I'm not sure if you can get these anymore, but I think you'd probably be able to get these fro Claires or something.

After I cleaned up my bows and placed them in this cute Mickey Mouse Magical Party box which I had off my friend from Primary School when she went to Disney. This little box used to be like Disney Note Paper, pencil, ruler and rubber, but of course I have used those and they are gone so I kept the box as it was a really cute box. And now I place all my hair bows and hair clips. I got the hair clips from New Look, but I got the bows from various places!

After that I clean up my rings, I'm not usually a ring wearer, so I don't really have much rings, but if I do wear rings I wear midi-rings and I have placed all my midi rings in this cute monkey cupcake container.

And yeah, this is how I placed everything out in the box. I have my little boxes placed at the bottle of the box then I placed all my scrunchies, bandannas, bigger hair clips and hair doughnuts on top! :)

A Vans shoe box is pretty small, but you don't realize how much you can fit into them! :)

Work Experience: Day 4 & 5

Work Experience: Day 4 and 5

So Day 4 and 5 are literally the last two days of Work Experience, so therefore I think I shall go more in depth about my last day, Day 5?

Day 4

We was rather early going to work, but we was still able to get stuff ready and help the teachers before the children started coming to school. We got paper ready for play dough disco and doing their train activity. We did the train activity first about YoYo's birthday present. Yes, the last blog I said was Holly? But the actual character is YoYo. YoYo's birthday. After we did the train activity it was time for play dough disco but instead of using play dough they used pipe cleaners because you know... Germs... So yes. All the pupils used pipe cleaners instead of play dough and listened to the bend and stretch song.

After these activities, it was time for break, so of course the children had their snack time which they had a biscuit and a bottle of milk each. Then after snack time it was time for the children to go out and play. I played with the little ones and we played 'Duck Duck Goose'.
Basically 'Duck Duck Goose' is a game. We all have to sit in a circle and one person has to be the goose and tap our heads going 'Duck' until they are ready to choose who they want to be the 'Goose' and the chosen goose has to run and try and catch the goose before the goose sits down and changes into a duck. If they miss the goose then the new chosen goose stays a goose and if the goose was caught then, obviously he's stay put. He/She is the goose. But we played a different version with the children because they all wanted to be gooses.

After break, it was lunch time. The children has lasagne for lunch, I remember because it was a struggle for me to cut the pasta sheet for the children. Once the children had finished their lunch. It was our lunch and of course like every lunch time, I would meet up with Eliza and do some shots for our blog.

But this lunch time was different. I filmed Eliza's Work Experience LookBook for her which, if you would like to see her LookBook I would link it right here. We also took some shots for each others blog too... I will also just do a fashion blog after this Work Experience blog, so keep appealed. I will keep you updated on Twitter when that blog post would be uploaded!

So, here is my Day 4 OOTD. Thanks to Eliza for taking these pictures.
  1. Dress from Topshop
  2. Shirt from Marks & Spencers
  3. Tights from Marsk & Spencers
  4. Shoes from Comme Des Garcons Japan
  5. Denim Shorts from Hollister
  6. Watch from Michael Korrs
So yes, that's basically my outfit of the day. I also wear a pair of shorts underneath my dress as it was pretty shorts on the not so bright side. But you couldn't really see them as my dress long enough but still a little bit to short.

Here is one of Eliza's shots. Taken by Me
Eliza wore up her hair, which was a messy bun.

After my lunch break, I went back to school and I had to call pupils over to come and stick some stripes on the tiger before it was afternoon break again. It was very messy indeed because there was lots of glue used as we were cutting and sticking.

Day 5

So, Day 5 was the last day of Work Experience for us and I would definitely miss it of course. It's been a lovely time working with the teachers and children. Yes, there were a lot of children and took me at least 3 days to learn all their names, but I actually really enjoy Work Experience.. I thought it would have been an disaster but obviously it was not! It was incredibly amazing and I absolutely loved it and I definitely recommend an placement in  primary school if you are struggling to choose where you would like to go for Work Experience.

All the members of staff were friendly and politely and literally everybody was lovely!

When I arrived for Work Experience on the last day we did some drawing with the pupils as they were coming into school and I drew some flowers and the children drew me some cute little pictures (which can be seen on my Instagram). They were really cute drawings off the girls Romi, Ruby and Crystal. I felt so loved when I received them as I knew that I wasn't a proper teacher and would only be there for a week. But if I ever become a teacher which is Number 2 on my list I would definitely remember all the memories I had during my Work Experience placement and just by reading these blog posts I have post about Work Experience.

After I received drawings off the little ones, it was time to do the register and time for jungle story before the children go to play. While the children had a jungle story, Fer, Jasmine and I went outside to go and see the Eclipse. Mrs Waite the teacher nicely offered us to go outside to go and see the eclipse, as she heard us talk about it in class.

When we went to go and see the Eclipse there, were actually two infant classes outside, watching the eclipse too. As so as we went outside, we instantly felt the temperature drop and we also thought that the sky would go extremely dark like night time, but it did not.

Here is one of the methods we used to watch the Solar Eclipse, basically it is A3 paper that has been hole punched then another sheet of A3 paper laid flat on the floor and the holes would reflect to the paper so we would be able to see the Eclipse.
Here's a picture of me attempting to take a picture of the Eclipse, but failed BADLY! oops.

Fern and I continued with the Tiger and Leopard activity when we got back into the classroom. Which was to stick on stripes for the tiger and Fern had to stick on spots on the leopard. Before we knew it, it was snack time for the children and break time for us. I suppose it would have been our last ever break time and during our break we literally filled in our Work Experience diaries. After break, it was time to take the children out in the yard to play. Once again we played 'Duck, Duck, Goose' and I suppose that would be the last ever game we would play during Work Experience. So it was SUPER fun!

Once break finished, the children went back to the classroom and they had another story, before long it was lunch and the children had Bacon and Chips or Fish and Chips. Once the children had finished their food it was time for us to have our lunch and Victoria and I went to meet Eliza to do some more shots for our blogs. But Eliza was late from coming home from her placement so we didn't do any shots. By the time Eliza came back, it was too late as there was only 15 minutes left of our lunch and by the time we walked to our  location and got ready that was 6 minutes gone. So we didn't take any photos or record anything. Victoria and I just went back to school.

After Lunch, the children had to answer their names for the register again and then go to assembly and when the children went to assembly, a teacher had a job for us which was to clean up the yard... SUPER DUPER FUN! -.- NOT. Apparently the school was going to receive a green flag so they had to clean up the yard. So, all us Work Experience girls that were down the infants had to clean up the yard... Very Fun. There weren't enough brushes so, some of us were just running around, standing, sliding down the slide and stuff. Just making the most of the last day. We was out the yard cleaning for possibly half an hour. After assembly had ended. The nursery children (which was my class) went on a bear hunt on the field near the school. And because Fern and I bought treats for the children as it was our last day we basically ate them up the field. It was a lovely day because, the sun was shining! The best last day ever!

Because I didn't have an OOTD shoot with Eliza in some random location, I went home and just randomly took a mirror selfie. Sorry Guys.
  1. Playsuit from Hollister
  2. Cardigan from Hollister
  3. Tights from Marks & Spencers
  4. Boots from Dorothy Perkins
  5. Watch from Micheal Korrs

So yeah, this is my Work Experience daily blog posts... Well not so daily. I will be doing a blog just about all the outfits I have worn for Work Experience, so make sure you check that out. I don't know when I will upload it, but anyways yes.. That's it and don't forget to check out my NEW video on YouTube of course! :)

Work Experience: Day 2 & 3

Work Experience: Day 2 & 3

Day 2

In the morning, pupils had a little story time about Holly's birthday I think it was and how she had a wooden toy train and then we listened to the train song that goes with the story book I suppose and then the pupils went to their desks and had two crayons and followed the song (basically they were just going round in circles with their two crayons in their hand). After the train song, pupils went back to the carpet and did Disco Play Dough which was when they had to listen to some sort of music and then follow what the music says. They were supposed to do this activity with an bean-bag. But they didn't. They used play dough. Well it was just as fun I suppose?

After pupils done those activities it was time for the pupils to have break and go out into the yard and play. They had a good half an hour break out in the yard and then it was lunch time of course and once again we had to help the pupils cut up their food.

In the afternoon pupils got to go on a jungle adventure, play in the vets and once again there was Fern and I teaching the pupils all the baby animals again.... Supposedly Fern and I have been saying 'foal' WRONG! We have been teaching the pupils 'FOUL' instead of 'FALL' oppsies. Well at least we know for next time.

Day 2: OOTD

Eliza's OOTD for Day 2, was rather causal but smart and a suitable outfit to wear whilst looking after children.
If you read Eliza's blog you would be able to find out what Eliza wore.

My outfit was rather chic but it was smart and pretty causal for my liking.
  1. Crop Top from H&M
  2. Skater Skirt from New Look
  3. Opaque Tights from Marks and Spencers
  4. Ankle Boots from Dorothy Perkins
  5. Scarf from Fendi
  6. Cardigan from Marks and Spencers

Day 3

The third day (which is today) we did disco play dough once again and we listened to the train song once again and done the same activity. Then of course it was break time, ask Fern and I and the girls have our break at 10AM until 10:30AM. But today, we literally forgot about the time and we didn't go back till our classrooms until quarter past. After break time with the nursery we went to help supervise the children outside in the yard and they stayed out until 11:30 before they went to have lunch.

At Lunch, I met up with Eliza once again to do some stuff for her channel and things and we also took some photos of our OOTDs.

  1. Shirt from Marks and Spencers
  2. Vest from Gilly Hicks
  3. Skorts from New Look
  4. Opaque Tights from Marks and Spencers
  5. Ankle Boots from Dorothy Perkins
  6. Watch from Michael Korrs
  7. Earrings from River Island
  8. Satchel had for birthday.

Eliza's OOTD can be seen in her blog.

I left Eliza at 12:35 so therefore Victoria and I had enough time to walk back to the school and not be late for the last two hours. After lunch Fern and I finished off the baby animals work with the children that has not done the work PLUS we pronounced FOAL correctly this time!

If you would like to see more about my Work Experience blog posts then obviously come back tomorrow? Or Friday, I'll see when I have enough time to upload another blog post! :)

Work Experience: Day 1

Work Experience: Day 1

Not all schools provide this opportunity, but my school certainly does.
Work Experience is a week or two (depending what subjects you selected to study for the two years) to try out what our future job is like, maybe not even future job, just a little taster.
For my Work Experience 'taster' I selected a placement at a local Primary School. Not as that I might become a teacher in a future, but... I did try to get other placements like an Airport for example but they were not accepting at the moment and that I was also too young.

As you may know I'm only 15, and not every place allowed Work Experience placements at the age of 15. You have to be at least 16.
Luckily I was allowed to attend a primary school (and so I will for the week).

You may be wondering what this blog is about, but this blog is going to be about, this blog is going to be about what I done during the first and second day, and what I wore.

Day 1

First day, I met up with my friends on the train station platform and we walked to the primary school together and then we met another 2 friends. When we arrived at the school we was greeted by the reception lady or sectary (ugh, not too sure on that one) and she told us to sit and wait on the benches. By that time many school pupils already came to school or was still coming and you could see all the primary school pupils go into their classes and get ready.

The headmistress didn't greet us until 9:15, as she had a meeting with some other teachers but when she did, she welcomed us to the school and she told us the code of conduct - basically rules in other words. And then she asked us where would we like to be placed and of course, if I do become a teacher in the future, it's either a teacher for nursery teacher or maybe a language teacher - but at the moment, I'm still focusing on becoming a future Air Cabin Crew member.

After we was welcomed into the school by the headmistress we went to our classrooms and we helped out. As I was with the nursery children, I helped them do some animal footprints as the class teacher told me and Fern that the pupils had recently been looking at Jungle Animals. So the Pupils, I and Fern did some tiger and lion footprints using paint. At 10:00AM it was our break, so we went into this little room where we would be able to meet up again with some other people that came to Work Experience with me. Our break lasted for half an hour and after break we took the nursery children out in the yard to play.

Out in the yard, we snag some songs and ran about. After that the children went back to their classrooms had a little story then they went for Lunch. During the pupils lunch we had to help cut up their food and then give out their deserts and drinks. Once they have finished their dinner we had to clean off all the food from their plates and the pile up their plates and forks/knifes. Once the pupils had their lunch we had to take them back to their classroom and then we were able to have our lunch. Our lunch break is on 45 minutes.

During my lunch break I helped Eliza film her 'Week 2 - Work Experience Book' which I think would be uploaded pretty much soon. Eliza and I do not have the same placement. Eliza goes to a day care nursery type? And I jut got to a primary school plus Eliza gets to finish before me too.. CRY :( Eliza gets to finish at 12PM and I only get to finish at 3:10PM :(.

Here is a glimpse of some of the pictures we took

Smart Causal OOTD
The dress code for my placement in a Primary School is 'Smart Casual.'
So my outfit for Day 1 is:
  • Scarf from Fendi
  • Dress from New Look
  • Opaque Tights from Marks and Spencers
  • Ankle Boots from Dorothy Perkins

I'm not so sure what Eliza's dress code for her Work Experience placement is, but I'm sure she would tell us in her Work Experience Look Book.

When lunch was over, we went back to class and we helped the pupils do some work. Fern and I taught the children one by one what a 'Foal, Calf, Kid, Duckling, Chick, Goosling, Lamp and Piglet' was and who were their parents 'Horse, Cow, Goat, Duck, Chicken, Goose, Sheep and Pig'. We most probably taught about 15 pupils altogether and then it was break time again and the children got to go in the yard and play again until there was 15 minutes left before the end of the day before a story book and home time.
